Government's first quarter revenue up

The revenue of the government in first three months
of solar year mounted to 8.6 billion Afghanis which is
28 per cent of the previous total revenue.
3.9 billion Of the revenue were of the customs and
the rest were taxes on various companies and
individuals.
Aziz Shams, media officer of finance ministry said
the revenue of the last year was over 30 billion
Afghanis ($620 million).
He said the increase in the revenue was partially
due to better and accurate implementation of the law,
preventing tax evasion, accepting the culture of tax
paying.
Increase in the revenue to cover the yearly normal
budget of the government by 2010 is one of the
commitments of Afghan government to international
community.
Currently all development budgets and less than
half of normal budget are financed by foreign aid.
