The USAID donates biomedical equipment worth
$390,000 to the Wazir Akbar Khan Hospital

Kabul, 18 February 2009: Dr. SM Amin Fatimie,
Minister of Public Health attended a ceremony in which
some advanced biomedical equipment was handed over to
Dr. Noor Agha Akramzada, director of Wazir Akbar Khan
Hospital by the representatives of Loma Linda
University Center in Kabul, Dr. Tom Krenar and Dr.
Michael Clark.
The equipment includes the following items:
1. CTR Fluoroscopy machine
2. Electronic operation table
3. Electro cuter machine for surgical operations
4. Echo Cardiograph machine with its accessories
5. Autoclave machine for sterilization of surgical
instruments and supplies
Dr. Fatimie thanked USAID and Loma Linda University
for their generous support to the WAK Hospital. He
stated that by equipping hospitals in Kabul and
provinces more Afghans will get standard treatment
inside the country and less will be referred abroad
for specialized treatment. |
