
Mansoor is a member of Jamiat-i Islami Afghanistan, and the editor of Payam-e Mujahid. After the fall of the Taliban regime in late 2001, Mansoor served as the first director of state radio and television. As director, he was criticized for some of his conservative decisions which included a ban on showing female singers on TV. In the October 2004 presidential elections, Mansoor ran as an independent. He received only 0.2% of the votes. Mansoor has been highly critical of President Karzai, and has accused him of trying to form a dictatorship. Mansoor was born in 1963 in the Panjsher Valley.
