Mohammad Musa Ahmadzai, a retired general, is currently the governor of Ghazni province. He replaced Governor Usman Usmani on May 13, 2010. Ahmadzai first served during the time of the President Mohammad Daoud Khan’s administration in the 1970s and then joined the Islamic Union for the Liberation of Afghanistan to fight against the communist regime and the Soviet Union. On his inauguration day speech, Ahmadzai said his main focus would be to reduce corruption, increase security, and improve education in the province.
