Rashid Khan Arman (راشد خان ارمان‬‎) is one of the greatest and popular Afghan cricketers. He is currently a member of the national cricket team. Rashid Khan’s playing role is a bowler, his batting style is right handed, and his bowling style is legbreak googly.

Rashid Khan was born on September 20, 1998 to a Pashtun family of 10 siblings in the village of Nangarhar, eastern Afghanistan. At the height of the Taliban war, Rashid Khan and his family moved to Pakistan where he cemented his love for cricket having spent days playing cricket and idolizing stars such as Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi.

Just a little over a month after his 17th birthday, Rashid Khan made his ODI (One Day International) match debut on a tour to Zimbabwe. The advanced legspinner was snapped up by India’s Sunrisers Hyderabad in February 2017 and is reported to have hauled in the highest ever bid for an associate in the IPL Auction by fetching $597,000 (INR 4 crores). He proceeded to top the ICC (International Cricket Council) player rankings in February 2018 as the youngest player ever for bowlers in an ODI match. That same month Khan also went ahead to top the ICC player rankings for Bowlers in the Twenty20 Internationals.

Rashid was part of the eleven-man team that debuted in the first Test Match against India in March 2018. Later, he returned home with the best bowling figures of any debutant in a One Day International match after conceding 150 runs and innings. Currently, he is only the 2nd youngest player to hold the feat after India’s 19-year-old Ramakant Desai (231d) whose 1959 record still stands.  He has played for the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) where he took the first-ever hat trick in the history of the CPL. Rashid then proceeded to the Afghan Premier League (APL) and the Big Bash League where he went on to win the latter 2017-18 league cup with Adelaide Strikers.

Rashid played his 100th twentry20 match during the 2018 Indian Premier league on May 5, 2018. He was named the Man of the Match after taking 2 wickets and affecting a run. On the international stage, Rashid Khan hauled in five-wickets in his first T20I match against Ireland and became the first player to take a five-wicket haul in two overs in a T20I match.
